OVERVIEW

The Chilean mining industry faces challenges on a global scale requiring the development of technological solutions that enable the industry to grow competitively and sustainably.

Within this context, the Open Innovation Program on Mining, Expande, was launched – together with BHP – the first version this company will hold in Chile.

The aim is to generate mathematical models that are capable of retrieving value as a result of operational data, using advanced analysis techniques such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, among others.

 

CHALLENGE

Advanced Analytics aimed at maximizing production

BHP is seeking to maximum performance during the milling stage by means of identifying the operational variables that have the greatest impact on the process. For this, they are searching for specialists in data analytics and machine learning that enable them, with the information made available, distinguish operational patterns.
