• Track data usage from a mobile device, without violating the privacy of the owner.
• Compatibility with extraction trucks.
• Compatibility with environmental and operational conditions of Minera Escondida.
Operation and processes involved
Minera Escondida, Mining Operations
Current situation
Challenge
Minera Escondida, in its work procedures, considers the non-use of mobile devices (mobile phones) for calls and messages during the operation. The practice described above cannot be verified in the field. Furthermore, the use of mobile devices and its consequences in past safety incidents have been analyzed. For this reason, information is needed to generate traceability and training plans, in order to modify the culture of the use of these devices.
Consequences
Potential accidents due to the use of distracting elements.
When does the problem occur?
Every time the extraction truck operator uses his mobile and is distracted from his work
Through procedures it is reinforced that the use of mobile phones is a prohibited conduct but there is no way to verify it.
