Faena: Andina Division
Deadline 07/05/2025
Closing Time 4:00 pm
Andina Division has identified an opportunity for innovation related to enhancing autonomy in the management of copper concentrate stock, both in terms of quantity and quality characteristics of the copper concentrate stored temporarily in the warehouse of the molybdenum and copper filtrate plant (PMFC). The concentrate is fed through two conveyor belts that operate continuously 24 hours a day; while its output is through trucks and/or trains in batch mode. The reporting of the output has a time lag of approximately 48 hours, which makes online traceability of the concentrate stored in the warehouse difficult.
On a permanent basis. The time lag between incoming and outgoing loads, together with the limited availability of on-line information on concentrate characteristics (moisture, density and tons or volume) is worsened as the stock in the warehouse grows.
The lack of certainty about the inventory stored in the warehouse makes it difficult to make decisions in the operational and logistical areas.
This is currently solved by periodically performing manual measurements of the concentrate’s characteristics, as well as the existing tonnage, through load separations using mobile equipment (front loader).
Identify technological solutions for automatic and online measurement, or with a maximum time lag of one hour, of at least one of the following variables of the copper concentrate stored in the molybdenum and copper filtrate plant warehouse: humidity, density and/or tons (or volume), eliminating the exposure of people in the process.
